Use My-personal-files.com like you would use any digital storage device, such as a hard drive or disc. The difference is that when you store your files with My-personal-files.com, you cannot lose the files. If your computer crashes, you lose the files stored on it. If you misplace a disc, you lose those files as well.
Another benefit of using My-personal-files.com is that you can access your files securely anywhere in the world there is an internet connection. You don't need to carry a hard drive or other portable storage devices around with you.
Disc storage space on your laptop or computer is limited. If you have an account with My-personal-files.com you can access up to 5G of storage each month or get more storage as you need it - there is no limit. Extra gigabytes are just $2.00.
How secure are my files on My-Personal-Files.com?
My-personal-files.com delivers a highly dependable platform for storing your personal records, documents, photos and files. Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our users' files is of the utmost importance to My-personal-files.com as is maintaining your trust and confidence. My-personal-files.com has employed best practices security methods to ensure that customer's files remain secure while stored on its servers. These include everything from the physical security of the datacenters to the firewalls and other measures the company uses to protect its servers from breaches.
Physical security - My-personal-files.com uses the data centers of Amazon. Amazon's data centers are housed in nondescript facilities, and critical facilities have extensive setback and military grade perimeter control berms as well as other natural boundary protection. Physical access is strictly controlled both at the perimeter and at building ingress points by professional security staff utilizing video surveillance, state of the art intrusion detection systems, and other electronic means. Authorized staff must pass two-factor authentication no fewer than three times to access data center floors.
Backup - Data stored is redundantly stored in multiple physical locations as a normal part of our services to ensure that data is never lost.
Password - Your account and stored files are password protected for security. You have full control over who has access to your data.
Data management - For maximum security, My-personal-files.com is accessible via SSL encrypted endpoints. Data is transferred securely and cannot be intercepted while in transit. All files stored on our servers are encrypted using industry-standard techniques so that decryption without the proper keys is almost impossible.

How do I store files on My-personal-files.com?
Organizing your paperwork and media files is easy with My-personal-files.com. Once you have signed in using your unique user name and secure password, you will be directed to your very own Control Panel. Simply follow these steps:
1. First, decide what category you want your file stored in and create a folder. Let's say you have some receipts from a home remodeling project that you want to store. Create a folder called "kitchenremodeling" by typing in that name into the space next to the "Create folder:" heading. Then click continue.
2. Now that you have a folder established, you can upload the digital file of the receipts you have scanned. You'll notice the line that says "Add file" and a box with the word "browse". Click on browse and locate the file you have stored the kitchen remodeling receipts in on your computer (for example, this file might be called "kitchenreceipts"). Click on "Open" when you've selected the correct file, and your file will be uploaded to your storage space on My-personal-files.com.
3. Scroll down to a display of your storage space on My-personal-files.com. You will see the folder you created (kitchenremodeling) and the file (kitchenreceipts). You will probably want to move the kitchenreceipts file into the kitchenremodeling folder so you can keep all these records organized by project. To the left of the kitchenreceipts file, you will see a drop down menu that indicates "please select". Click on the arrow and a list of all the folders you've created drops down. Just click on the "kichenremodeling" folder and your "kitchenreceipts" file will move into your "kitchenremodeling" folder. That's it. You have now safely stored all your receipts in the appropriate folder - you are now organized!

How do I retrieve something I've stored?
From your Control Panel, you can retrieve any file you have uploaded and stored. Just enter the name of the file you are looking for in the space provided and click search. The file you indicated will be displayed in the space provided below. Or, you can scroll down the list of your files and folders and click on any file.
I have a scanner, how do I store my documents on My-Personal-Files?
Following the instructions on your scanner, scan the document, papers or photos you would like to store. When prompted, give the document a unique name so that you can find it in your computer's hard drive. From your Control Panel on My-Personal-Files.com, select Online Storage and click on the button. You will be directed to your "Personal Files" page where you can initiate the uploading of that file. Select the browse button to find the file on your computer's hard drive, click on the file in the window that appears, select "Open" and the file will be sent to your Personal Files page. Click on the Upload button next to the name of the file you are uploading and your file will be stored in your space in our secure servers.
I don't have a scanner, how can I convert my papers and photos to digital files I can upload on My-Personal Files.com?
Don't worry if you don't have a scanner. We provide two specialized services that will enable you to download any type of documents. These are premium services and you can upgrade your service level at any time.
First, our Fax-to-Scan service allows you to fax us your documents securely from any fax. We will convert the faxed copies to digital files and send you an e-mail with these newly created digital files as an attachment. Simply download the attachment to your hard drive on your computer, and then save that file in My-Personal-Files.com by the same procedure you use to upload any other file.
Secondly, our Send-to-Scan service gives you the option of sending us your documents by mail or other carrier. Once we receive your documents, we will scan them in our secure facility and create a digital file for you of these very same papers. Send us up to 200 pages each month to scan for you. We will e-mail you back a digital copy of these papers. Once we receive confirmation from you that you received the complete digital file, we will destroy your papers in our secure document destruction facility.
